Bridge Designer (Cloud Edition)

Bridge Designer, the successor of West Point Bridge Designer, lets you design a steel truss highway bridge: you choose site conditions, draw joints and members, set the material and section of each member, and run a load test with a simulated truck. Members in tension and compression are coloured blue and red, and failing members are flagged so you can strengthen them. Cost is calculated live from earthwork, complexity and materials, and teachers can set a contest code. It suits school pupils and first-year students. Limitation: it is a teaching tool, not professional design software.
