LISFLOOD-OS

A distributed hydrological model developed at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre and used, among other things, in European flood forecasting systems. On a spatial grid it computes the water balance — rain, snow, evaporation, infiltration, groundwater and runoff — and routes flow through rivers and reservoirs. It suits large-catchment studies, climate scenarios and discharge forecasting. Preparing the spatial input data takes significant work and companion tools.
