Get it from the vendormacOS is well covered by tools built on Java, Python and Qt, which run on all three platforms from the same code. The main gap is in the dedicated engineering design tools written for Windows only.
One technical point worth checking before installing: whether a native build exists for Apple Silicon or the software runs through a translation layer. On heavy computation the performance difference is significant.
