anaStruct

A light Python library for analysing plane frames and trusses. You build the structure from elements, define supports (hinged, fixed or spring) and loads, and get plots of bending moment, shear force, axial force and displacements. It includes load cases, basic non-linear analysis and a steel section database. It suits students, checking hand calculations and automating simple calculations; it is not meant for 3D structures.

Note: in version 1.7.0, frames where a beam hinged at its end meets a column at an angle are computed incorrectly. Details in the guide: anaStruct — The Complete Guide.
