AeroSandbox

AeroSandbox

A Python library for designing and optimising aircraft and other engineered systems. You write the model in NumPy-like syntax, and the library computes derivatives automatically and solves large optimisation problems quickly. It includes vortex-lattice aerodynamics, airfoil and wing analysis and optimisation, structural analysis of composite tube spars, electric motor models and trajectory optimisation. It is used mainly in the conceptual design of drones and small aircraft. There is no graphical interface — all work is done in code.
