SNAP-2 (Soil Nail Analysis Program)

Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)

SNAP-2 (Soil Nail Analysis Program)
Download from the vendor www.fhwa.dot.gov

SNAP-2 from the US Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) brings the whole design of a soil nail wall into one program: checks of the nails and facing elements, internal and external wall stability, and limit-equilibrium global slope stability. It can also evaluate successive excavation stages and assess field verification and proof test results, and works in US or SI units with free switching between them. The calculations follow FHWA guidance, including GEC 7. Suited to geotechnical engineers and designers of retaining structures for road and excavation projects. Limitations: it runs on Windows only; the latest version dates from 2016 and FHWA states that it provides no user support; the design follows US methodology rather than Eurocode 7.
