BASEMENT

BASEMENT is software for modelling flow and bed changes in rivers. The BASEMD module handles one-dimensional systems, and the BASEHPC module computes two-dimensional flow and can use GPUs for speed. Both compute sediment transport as bed load and suspended load, and models for turbulence, vegetation and particle transport have been added. Water engineers use it for flood mapping, river restoration design and sediment assessment. Limitation: results from different versions may differ, so it is best to finish a project with the same version.
