HYSPLIT is a model from NOAA’s Air Resources Laboratory for computing air-parcel trajectories and the dispersion and deposition of pollutants, smoke, volcanic ash and radionuclides. It works with global meteorological data, so it suits any location in the world. Air-quality and emergency engineers use it to trace pollution sources and forecast smoke plumes. There is a downloadable version and an online version.
