SIMetrix/SIMPLIS Elements includes the schematic editor, the SIMetrix SPICE simulator and SIMPLIS, a fast simulator for switching circuits, together with a waveform viewer. Power electronics engineers use it to check DC-DC converters, control loops and filters before building a prototype, and for small analogue circuits as an alternative to other free SPICE tools. Limitations: up to 750 analogue nodes in SPICE simulation and tight limits on the number of switches and reactive parts in SIMPLIS, no support for encrypted models, Verilog-A or scripts, and it runs on Windows only.
