BentoPDF

BentoPDF is a collection of more than 100 PDF tools that work in the browser, but processing happens on the user’s own computer (WebAssembly) rather than on a server: merge, split, compress, reorder and rotate pages, convert, add page numbers and watermarks, password protection and more. For an engineer the advantage is processing sensitive drawings and tender documents without them leaving the computer and without installing software. It can also be self-hosted on an internal server. Limitation: performance depends on the computer and browser, and very large files can be slow.

Licence typeCompletely Free, Open Source
Licence termsOpen source under AGPL-3.0. The website is free for any use, with no sign-up, no file limits and no watermark, and is donation-funded. A paid one-time commercial licence is needed only for self-hosting it inside a closed-source proprietary product. Exceptions to local processing: the timestamp tool contacts a TSA server, and processing modules are loaded from an external CDN.
