BIMvision

BIMvision opens IFC files from any BIM authoring tool and lets you do what most people actually need: rotate the model, switch layers off, cut sections, measure distances, read every property of an element, and calculate simple quantities — volume, area and length — for selected elements. Comparing two versions of the same model, advanced quantity reports and clash detection come as separate plugins, some of them paid.

This is the answer to the common problem of receiving an IFC with nothing to open it in. The viewer itself is entirely free and unrestricted; the company separately sells advanced plugins, which are not needed for ordinary work.

What is missing: this is a viewer, not an editor. The model cannot be changed.
