CADProps — View and Measure CAD Files in the Browser

CADProps is a free browser service for opening and measuring CAD files with nothing to install: upload a STEP, IGES, Parasolid, SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA, NX, Solid Edge, STL, OBJ, GLB or DWG/DXF file and get a 3D view with dimensions, volume, surface area and weight from the material density.

What you can do

• Dimensions and bounding box — the model’s X/Y/Z extents, with a units check (mm or inch).
• Volume, surface area and weight — from exact B-Rep geometry in STEP, IGES and Parasolid files; weight uses the density you choose (steel, aluminium and more).
• Point measurements — edge length, face area, hole diameter, distance, angle and coordinates.
• Section, explode and compare — including comparing two versions of a file and batch processing.
• Convert and share — conversion to other formats and share links, after signing in to a free account.

Good to know

• Files are uploaded to a server for processing; they do not stay in your browser. Not suitable for confidential client drawings — for fully local viewing use Online 3D Viewer.
• Volume and weight need a valid closed solid. Surface-only files give an estimate marked with a warning, and the density is your assumption, not read from the file.
• An independent, new service run by CADProps, with Google ads on some pages. Files up to 95 MB; guest files are deleted after about an hour.
