FZKViewer
Download from the vendor www.iai.kit.edu

FZKViewer from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology opens a range of open formats no commercial viewer covers together: IFC in all its versions, CityGML for city models, gbXML for energy analysis, LandXML for topography and infrastructure, and BCF. It shows the full model hierarchy and all properties, and performs basic file validation.

It is the tool for questions that fall between BIM and GIS — a building model in an urban context, linking a development plan to an architectural model, or diagnosing why an IFC file will not load for someone else.

Developed at a university and distributed free, including for commercial use.

Its developers have since released a successor, KITModelViewer; FZKViewer remains available for download.
