GraphHopper

GraphHopper is a Java routing engine that you run as a local server on an OpenStreetMap extract, giving a browser map interface and an API. It computes routes for profiles such as car, truck, bike and foot, areas reachable within a given time and shortest path trees, and snaps GPS traces to the road network. Routing behaviour, for example preferring or blocking road types, can be changed in a settings file without code. Transport planners use it for accessibility analysis, testing the effect of a road closure and processing GPS data. Limitation: it needs Java and is started from the command line, and services such as route optimisation and matrices are only in the paid API.
