HI Pump Savings Calculator

The Hydraulic Institute Pump Savings Calculator is a macro-enabled Excel tool that calculates life-cycle energy and cost savings for a specific pump installation. It compares pumps with different Energy Ratings under HI's rating programme, works out the incremental cost against the savings, and estimates the effect of adding a variable speed drive to a constant-speed pump. It walks the user through the process step by step, both for site-specific and general estimates. Suited to mechanical engineers, energy consultants and equipment buyers who need to justify an efficient pump. Limitations: it is based on HI's U.S. Energy Rating programme; it needs Excel with macros enabled, and it is obtained through the HI online store at a price of zero.
