Linkage is a program for quick design of linkage mechanisms. It works like a vector drawing program: you draw links, pivots and sliding connectors, add gears, chains and cams, and start the animation in the same window to see the motion, point paths and speeds. You can also record a video of the mechanism. Suited to the concept stage of machine design and to teaching kinematics. Limitation: it runs on Windows; a Mac version is in preview.
