ODOP:Spring

ODOP:Spring is built for helical spring design: compression, extension and torsion, in metric or US units. Instead of guessing wire diameter, coil diameter and number of coils and recalculating, you set goals and constraints such as force at a given length, allowable stress and maximum dimensions, and constrained optimisation searches for a design that meets them. It includes material and standard size tables, constraint alerts and tutorials, and can also analyse an existing spring. Limitation: it runs in the browser and needs an internet connection, and saving designs to the online library requires a user account.
