An electromagnetic field solver using the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method. You define geometry, materials and excitation in an Octave, MATLAB or Python script and get S-parameters, input impedance, radiation patterns and field distributions. It is used to design antennas, microwave filters, transmission lines and structures on printed circuit boards. A strong free alternative to commercial solvers, but there is no full graphical interface for building the model — the work is done in code, and large models take considerable run time.
