OpenJUMP

The JUMP Pilot Project (volunteer developers)

OpenJUMP
Download from the vendor sourceforge.net

OpenJUMP reads and writes Shapefile and GML, plus other formats through plugins, reads spatial databases and writes to PostGIS, and displays images and WMS and WFS layers. Its strength is editing geometry and attributes: drawing, fixing and snapping polygons and lines, topology checks and overlay operations such as intersection and union. It offers layer styling, coordinate reference system transforms and export of the map view to SVG. Engineers use it as a lightweight GIS viewer and to clean vector data before passing it to models. Limitation: raster and cartography features are limited compared with QGIS.
