Overleaf is an online LaTeX editor: you write in the browser and the document is compiled to PDF on the service’s servers, with no TeX distribution to install. It has a large gallery of templates for journals, theses and CVs, auto-completion, a side-by-side PDF preview and a visual editor for people not used to code. It suits students and engineers writing papers and reports from any computer. Limitation: on the free plan the compile time is limited to 10 seconds, each project can have one collaborator, version history covers only 24 hours, and there is no track changes or Git and GitHub sync.
