PHREEQC

PHREEQC computes what happens chemically when water meets rock, soil or other water: equilibrium between solutes and minerals, dissolution and precipitation, ion exchange, surface complexation and reaction kinetics. It can mix water sources, run titrations, and even model one-dimensional transport through a column.

In engineering it answers questions about seawater intrusion into an aquifer, groundwater quality around a contaminated site, corrosion and scaling in water networks, and industrial effluent treatment. It ships with ready thermodynamic databases and with a graphical interface (PHREEQC Interactive) for Windows.
