A Python library for modelling the performance of photovoltaic systems, which began as a translation of Sandia National Laboratories’ PVLIB toolbox. It computes sun position, transposition from horizontal to plane-of-array irradiance, cell temperature, losses and system output, and includes tools for accessing irradiance data. Electrical and energy engineers use it to estimate the yield of solar plants, compare actual performance with expectations and for research. It is a library only, so familiarity with Python and pandas is needed.
