A Python framework for optimising and simulating modern power and energy systems. It models conventional plants with unit commitment, variable renewable generation, hydro and storage, elastic demand and linearised power flow in AC and DC networks. It supports long-term capacity expansion planning, stochastic scenarios and coupling between energy sectors. It ships with the free HiGHS solver, but on very large problems commercial solvers are much faster. It is used by researchers, grid planners and utilities.
