QField

QField takes a QGIS project you prepared in the office — layers, forms, validation rules — and runs it on a mobile device. In the field you place points, fill in the same forms, take and attach photographs, and measure, all offline. Back at the office you sync it into the project.

It replaces printed sheets and double entry: surveying existing buildings, mapping utilities, site inspection or environmental sampling. It supports external GNSS receivers for high accuracy.

The app is open source and free; the company separately offers a paid cloud sync service, which is not required.
