REScheck

PNNL (US Department of Energy)

REScheck
Download from the vendor www.energycodes.gov

REScheck from the US Department of Energy checks whether a home meets the IECC energy code. It calculates U×A (heat-transfer coefficient times area) for each envelope assembly — walls, roof, floor, windows and doors — compares the total with the code requirement, and produces a compliance report. It covers single- and two-family houses and residential buildings up to three storeys. Suited to architects, engineers and energy consultants. Limitations: it is built on US codes, and the Windows version only goes up to IECC 2015 — newer codes need the browser version.
