SPACESOFT is free software for the analysis and design of 3D steel structures — multi-storey buildings, industrial halls, lattice towers, space roofs, beam grids, canopies and pipe racks — right in the browser and with no registration. Every member is computed with six degrees of freedom at each end: axial force, bending about both axes and torsion.
Why it stands out
- Seismic design to SI 413 (2023) — design spectrum by locality (all 1,296 localities of Annex D), soil class and importance group; rigid diaphragms, modes up to 90% of the mass, CQC combination, accidental torsion, storey drifts and the θ factor.
- Steel design to EN 1993-1-1 — section classification, resistance, flexural and lateral-torsional buckling and interaction, with a utilisation map and a colour stress map on the members.
- Live view — the deformed shape and the mode shapes animate in 3D.
- Straight on to connections and anchoring — the forces at every node export to AAS (concrete anchors to EN 1992-4) and ConSteelSoft (steel connections), and the storey drift to FACADESOFT.
- Verified — the analysis was compared with Code_Aster, an independent finite element program, for statics and mode shapes. Full calculation report in Hebrew, English, Spanish and Russian.
