CAELinux Project

CAELinux

CAELinux is a complete operating system that arrives with Code_Aster, Salome, Elmer, OpenFOAM, Gmsh, ParaView and dozens more — installed, linked and working together. It can run from a USB stick without installing anything on the machine.

Its main value is that it removes the first obstacle in the open CAE world: installation and dependencies. Instead of a week assembling an environment, you get a working one in an hour.

Even for those who never run it, it is an excellent map — it shows which tools fit together and in what order they are used.

What is missing: the latest release, CAELinux 2020, is based on Xubuntu 18.04, so its tool versions are now dated — for current versions, install the tools separately.
