Capella is an open-source model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tool, originally developed at Thales and now managed by the Eclipse Foundation. It guides the engineer through the Arcadia method — from needs and operational analysis, through functions, to the logical and physical architecture. Systems engineers in aerospace, rail, defence and automotive use it to design complex systems and keep requirements and design consistent.
