Chrome Remote Desktop

remotedesktop.google.com
A Google service that connects from the browser or a mobile app to Windows, macOS and Linux computers. It has two modes: permanent access to your own computers with a PIN, and remote support with a one-time code that the other side shares. An engineer can leave the office computer ready for access and work on it from home, or help a colleague fix a problem. Connections are encrypted and setup is very simple. Limitations: a Google account is required, there is no team management or advanced file transfer, and company networks may block it.
Ratings & Reviews
| Licence type | Completely Free |
|---|---|
| Licence terms | A free Google service with no paid tiers and no session time limit. A Google account is required, and a small component must be installed on the host computer. In managed work accounts the administrator can restrict its use. Security: never install a remote-control tool or give an access code to someone who contacted you by phone, message or pop-up. Set a strong password and two-factor authentication, and turn off unattended access when you do not need it. |
