Clawpack (Conservation Laws Package) is a collection of finite-volume methods for solving hyperbolic systems of conservation laws, such as shock waves, shallow-water equations and acoustics. It includes AMRClaw for adaptive mesh refinement, GeoClaw for geophysical simulations — tsunamis, floods, dam breaks and landslides — and PyClaw for working in Python and parallel computing. Suited to water and environmental engineers, researchers and students. Limitations: there is no graphical interface, you work in Fortran and Python code, and installation targets Linux and macOS.
