Climate Consultant
Download from the vendor www.energy-design-tools.aud.ucla.edu

Climate Consultant from UCLA reads annual weather files (EPW) and shows them in clear graphics: temperatures, radiation, wind, humidity and a psychrometric chart with the comfort zone. From the data it suggests passive design strategies — shading, natural ventilation, thermal mass and passive solar heating — and shows how many hours a year each strategy covers. Suited to architects and students at the concept stage. Limitations: it analyses climate, not the building itself, and the download page asks for an email address.
