deal.II is one of the oldest and best-known finite-element libraries in the world, written in C++. It provides all the building blocks for your own solver: adaptive meshes, high-order elements, parallel solvers and cluster computing. Other programs, such as Agros Suite, are built on it. More than a hundred guided tutorials (step-1 onwards) teach elasticity, flow, heat, electromagnetics and more. It suits researchers, graduate students and anyone who needs a dedicated solver that no ready-made program provides. It requires programming knowledge.
