Deepnest — Part Nesting for Cutting

The nesting problem — how to arrange parts on a sheet of steel or wood so as little material as possible is wasted — is hard to solve by eye, and commercial tools charge heavily for it. Deepnest reads DXF, SVG and CDR, arranges the parts automatically while continuously searching for a better layout, and exports DXF or SVG for cutting. It can place small parts inside holes in larger ones, and merge shared cut lines to shorten machine time. For a student or a small workshop that is a direct saving in both material and time.
