Eclipse 4diac

Eclipse 4diac consists of the 4diac IDE development environment and the FORTE runtime. In the IDE you build an application as a network of function blocks, define the automation devices on the network, map parts of the application to different controllers and deploy them, then monitor values, force signals and trigger events at run time. There are editors for basic, composite and service interface blocks, and single-block testing with breakpoints. It suits research and teaching in distributed automation and control systems on low-cost hardware. Limitation: FORTE is currently provided as source code to compile, and IEC 61499 is less common in industry than IEC 61131-3.
