MATE Desktop

Engrampa

Engrampa is the archive manager of the MATE desktop, which began as a fork of File Roller and keeps a simple, classic interface. It creates ZIP, 7Z and TAR archives with GZ, BZ2 or XZ, and also opens RAR, ARJ, LZH, ISO and DEB and RPM packages. It integrates with the Caja file manager for compressing and extracting from the menu. It suits engineers on MATE-based distributions such as Ubuntu MATE or Linux Mint MATE. Limitation: the interface is basic, and available formats depend on the command-line tools installed.
