ESP-r from the University of Strathclyde is a long-established research simulation environment for building performance. It models heat, air, moisture, light and electrical power flow together at a resolution the user sets, and includes models for natural ventilation, HVAC plant and renewable energy. Suited to researchers, advanced students and energy consultants who need a detailed model. Limitations: it is designed mainly for Linux (an Ubuntu installer is available), the interface is dated, and it takes time to learn.
