Friture

Timothée Lecomte

Friture

Friture shows live analysis of the signal from a microphone or sound card: frequency spectrum, rolling spectrogram, octave and fractional-octave bands, scope, pitch tracking and inter-channel delay estimation. A built-in generator produces sine, pink and white noise, sweeps and bursts. Engineers use it for quick checks of machine and fan noise, spotting resonance frequencies and testing audio systems. Limitation: it is an audio analyser, not a calibrated noise meter to standards, and results depend on the microphone and sound card.
