HY-8 is software from the US Federal Highway Administration for the hydraulic design of road culverts. It computes headwater and tailwater, outlet velocity, roadway overtopping and multiple barrels in parallel, and includes design of energy dissipators. The method does not depend on US data, and road and drainage engineers use it to choose culvert size and number of barrels.
