JabRef

A reference manager that works directly on plain-text BibTeX and BibLaTeX files, with no lock-in to a closed format. It searches scientific catalogues such as CrossRef and IEEE Xplore, fetches details by DOI, ISBN or arXiv ID, extracts data from PDFs, finds duplicates and organises references into groups. It works with LyX, TeXstudio and other editors, and also inserts citations in Word and LibreOffice. Especially suited to people writing theses and papers in LaTeX.
