MYSTRAN

A general-purpose structural finite element solver that was once a commercial product and became an open community project. It reads BDF files in Nastran syntax, so many models prepared for Nastran run with little or no change. It supports linear static, modal and linear elastic buckling analysis, with 1D, 2D and 3D elements and composite laminates. It is a solver only: building the model and viewing results need a separate pre- and post-processor.
