Node-RED

Node-RED runs a small server on Node.js and a graphical editor in the browser, where you wire nodes into a flow: reading data from a controller or sensor, filtering and converting it, storing it in a database, sending an alert or showing it on a dashboard. There are more than 5,000 community nodes, including Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT and cloud interfaces. It runs on a Raspberry Pi, an industrial PC at the network edge, in Docker or in the cloud. Engineers use it to build data loggers, protocol gateways and energy monitoring systems. Limitation: it does not replace a real-time controller, and in large systems you must plan security and backup yourself.
