OpenShot is an open-source video editor aimed at beginners: you drag clips onto a timeline with unlimited tracks, cut them, add titles, transitions and effects such as chroma key (green screen), and animate position, scale and opacity with keyframes. Recent versions add colour wheels, curves, LUTs and scopes, plus recording of screen, webcam and microphone straight into the project. It suits a short explainer video, test documentation or a project presentation. Limitation: on long, heavy projects it is slower and less stable than professional editors.
