ProjectLibre builds a complete schedule: tasks, dependencies, milestones, critical path, resource allocation and tracking of budget and progress against plan. It reads and writes MS Project files, which makes working with a client or contractor on that platform practical.

For a small engineering office it is the practical answer: a schedule good enough to attach to a proposal or a progress report, without an annual licence. The desktop edition is open and free; the company separately offers a paid cloud product for team work.
