sectionproperties

A Python library that computes the geometric properties of a cross-section of any shape using a finite element mesh: area, moments of inertia, torsion constant, warping constants, shear centre and plastic section moduli. You can also apply forces and moments and see the stress distribution in the section. Geometry is defined from coordinates, a DXF file or a built-in section library, including composite sections of several materials such as reinforced concrete. Checking the results remains the user’s responsibility.
