Surya

Surya is a document recognition toolkit: OCR in more than 90 languages, layout analysis with reading order, table recognition with rows, columns and merged cells, and equations output as LaTeX inside the text. Engineers can use it to turn scanned pages of standards, textbooks and reports into structured text, including tables and equations that can be copied. It runs on NVIDIA GPUs, on CPU or on Apple Silicon. Limitations: there is no regular graphical interface and installation is aimed at Python users, and the model weights are free only for research, personal use and small companies.
