Tesseract OCR

Tesseract OCR project

Tesseract OCR
Download from the vendor tesseract-ocr.github.io

A neural-network-based OCR engine that recognises text in PNG, JPEG and TIFF images in more than 100 languages. It outputs plain text, searchable PDF, hOCR, TSV and other formats, and can be trained for new fonts and languages. Engineers use it to batch-convert old scans to text, and through other tools such as OCRmyPDF and NormCap. It is a command-line tool and library with no graphical interface; a ready Windows installer is provided by UB Mannheim.
