Yade

Yade is a discrete element simulation framework with a C++ computing core and full control from Python: scene construction, running, post-processing and debugging. Engineers use it to model powder and grain flow in hoppers and chutes, compaction and fracture of materials, tool-soil and particle interaction, and virtual lab tests. Its flexible object model lets you add contact laws and algorithms, and it supports high-precision calculations and multiscale FEMxDEM coupling. Limitation: Linux only; on other systems you need Docker or a virtual machine.
