TigerVNC

TigerVNC project

TigerVNC

TigerVNC lets you run a graphical desktop on a remote machine and work on it over the network. It is common on Linux servers and calculation workstations, for example to open a graphical post-processing program on a compute server without sitting in front of it, and it has a viewer for Windows, macOS and Linux. It includes TLS encryption and advanced authentication methods, and recent versions can also share an existing Wayland desktop. Limitation: server setup is mostly done on the command line, and there is no relay service for internet connections, so a VPN or port forwarding is needed.
