EasyOCR — The Complete Guide: Text Recognition in Images in a Few Lines of Python
EasyOCR, from Jaided AI, is a Python library built on PyTorch that turns OCR into a job of three or four lines of code. The Apache 2.0 licence allows any use, including commercial, with no registration.

When to choose it — and its limits
EasyOCR suits small tools: reading equipment nameplates from site photos, or numbers from the display of a measuring instrument. It is less suited to whole documents with tables. Limitations: Hebrew is not in the language list, installation is heavy because of PyTorch, and the latest published release dates from September 2024.
