OSMnx — The Complete Guide: Download and Analyse OpenStreetMap Street Networks in Python

OSMnx is an open-source (MIT) Python package that downloads, models and analyses street networks and geospatial data from OpenStreetMap. In a few lines of code you get the walking, driving or cycling network of a whole city and can start calculating.

What you get

Who it suits

Transport planners, researchers and urban planning students who want to analyse accessibility or compare networks. Basic Python knowledge is required. Keep in mind that the quality of results depends on how complete OpenStreetMap mapping is in the area, so check the network before drawing conclusions.

The bottom line

The shortest path from a real street network to quantitative analysis — free, open and flexible.
